Giving explanation during the unveiling of a pre- production study of the brand- new CR- V summer this year, Honda stated that by the end of 2011 the production version of all- new 2012 Honda CR- V will go on sale in the United States. It is possible that we may see this compact SUV, Honda CR- V will make its global debut in around a couple of months’ time at the L. A. Auto Show in November.
However, before the company really launches the CR- V, there have been a large number of images of the production CR- V snapped when it was doing tests in Europe.
Since the CR- V will bring different engine lineups, we don’t expect any noticeable design alteration between the North American and European market models of the Honda’s famed SUV.
Compared to the CR- V Concept there is nothing other changes except the CR- V’s smaller alloy wheels, the roof rails colored in black and the lack of the front metal or aluminum protection plate and black trim which used to be placed on the lower part of the bumper on the test car.
A single naturally aspirated four- cylinder engine which produces output of around 200 hp is said to empower the CR- V North American model. The vehicle also expected to be equipped with front and all- wheel drive layouts as optional.
Since the company has formally said that the CR- V will arrive in the fall of 2012, it seems the European buyers will have to be more patient to wait it. Although a choice of four- cylinder gasoline and diesel engines is more of less guaranteed, the Japanese company still sealing its lips to announce the available powertrain options.
