New Peugeot 4008 Review and Photos: Peugeot

The new 4008 has been brought by Peugeot to join the compact SUV/crossover range. the French carmaker has set the new 4008 to make its world debut in march 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle is expected to arrive on Peugeot showrooms following its premiere at around the second quarter of 2012.

The new 4008 which initially the 4008 would be named as 2008 is now seating between the larger 3008 and the 4007 in its lineup. The new crossover model has 4,340 mm in length that means that the vehicle is shorter by 295 mm compared to that of the 4007. While, the width is 1.800 mm and the height is 1.630 completed with a 2,670 mm long wheelbase. Since the new 4008 has been built based on the Mitsubishi ASX- in which in USA it is known as the Outlander Sport or you may know it as RVR in Japan and Canada- both PSA Peugeot and Mitsubishi had already made an agreement in the beginning of last year.

A choice of four engines will be offered for the buyers, including two gasoline and two diesel engines. The first gasoline engine is a 1.6 liter which produces output 116 hp power and 152 Nm of torque. The second is the 2.0 liter delivers 150 hp and 198 Nm of torque. A five- speed manual gearbox are equipped as standard to both model, while the CVT automatic only available on the 2.0 liter as an option.

Next, the diesels come with 1.6 liter delivers 112 hp and 270 Nm and 1.8 liter spawns 150 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Either 1.6 or 1.8 liter is offered with a six- speed manual gearbox.

The firm confirmed that the new 4008 will be manufactured worldwide with both gasoline and diesel engines and front wheel drive. However in Europe, the vehicle is only available in diesel and four- wheel drive only.
