Mercedes Benz S- Class, apparently unbeaten and even has no comparative in its segment. However, over the past years plentiful competitors such as the Lexus LS, Audi A8, the revitalized Jaguar XJ and the most serious the Porsche Panamera have came up, facing against this S- Class. It means the S- Class is not any longer solo actor in the luxury car segment.
However, Mercedes Benz automaker is still standing firm and now preparing a fresh enhanced successor to join its S- Class limousine which will also dubbed as W222 under its in-house nickname.
The W222 which has been built based on a new platform design is expected to arrive on sale in the next 2013. It will be available in either short or long wheelbase derivatives. The buyers also will be offered with a choice of rear or all wheel drive.
It also will benefit from a range of upgraded, fresh engine from V6, V8 to V12 petrol engines. Those units will be completed with four- cylinder and V6 diesels along with a choice of plug- in hybrid models as standard. The Automatic transmissions also will come as standard as well to complete all those engine range.
Mercedes Benz is also planning to introduce the replacements for the sporty S63 and S65 AMG sedans, sometime in the future.
Inferred from the 2014My S- class prototypes, the exterior design of the W222 seems to be more evolutionary than revolutionary since the most distinctions emphasized more in the details than the shape.
On the other side, a totally new interior design will decorate inside the car with an extremely large TFT display run down across half of the dashboard. Furthermore the graphics for the instrument panel and the infotainment system as well will be mounted on its dashboard.
In addition, the S- Class also will be completed with a host of new safety systems and plenty of gadgets.
