Most people who drive old cars certainly have to deal with many kinds of problems and finally, some of them may throw it away. Yet, there is a different story of old car journey, the 1990 Honda Accord which belongs to Joe LoCicero. This Accord which has live cycle till now for around 53 year old is a special classic vehicle since its mileometer is able to shows better figures of 1 million mile mark 20 years after produced from the Honda’s Marysville assembly, Ohio plant. That figure is the same if we go around the earth for 40 times away.
Mr. LoCicero’s Accord is named ‘True Blue’ since it finished in light- blue paint. LoCicero himself is a master auto technician who benefits from the miles as he makes a long journey to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont looking for cars warranty claim.
During a parade which was made by Honda’s lover in Bangor in honor of ‘Million Mile Joe’, Ron Russell stated that old vehicle also can proof its best if the owner also take care and maintain it.
Thanks to LoCicero jobs so that he can do many things in maintaining the cars. In the past 1996, LoCicero got the Accord with the odometer showed 74,000 miles. From then, he keeps retaining the performance of the Accord, from replacing the seatbelts, steering wheel, upholstery and fuel pump (at 741,000 miles!). However he claimed that he still retains the original transmission and engine.
Actually the vehicle is indeed old but it still represents a great ride for the driver, proven with its 1 million mile milestone. LoCicero is also the first person to be documented by the car manufacturer. For his dedication, Honda determined to present LoCicero with the latest 2012 Accord cobalt blue in an extraordinary event.
