After we have long waited for the most highly expected models of the year, Subaruhas finally offered us with a host of first official images of the new Subaru BRZ Concept -or short of “Boxer engine”, “Rear-wheel drive” and “Zenith”- a pairs of weeks before its debut.
The Subaru STI features just a slightly different styling with the upcoming BRZ coupe which will be soon unveiled in the same time with the Toyota FT 86 at this year Tokyo Motor Show that will be held in early December. While the BRZ itself will have its global debut at this year Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16.
Subaru stated that in order to achieve a Pure Handling Delight driving experience, the BRZ has already equipped with high- technology of the Horizontally- Opposed Boxer engine which enables vehicle to have a low center of gravity. The ultimate handling performance also supported with the design of Subaru’s iconic performance brand ‘STI’.
The BRZ also employs an exclusive rear- wheel drive which represents a result of Subaru and Toyota Motor Corporation. The BRZ also share the same platform to the Toyota FT- 86, including the drivetrain which can bee clearly seen just from the images.
However, the two vehicle also present some styling difference, some of noticeable distinctive such as carbon fiber roof and STI alloy wheels, are the tail lamp, boot lid and rear bumper/diffuser designs.
The BRZ will be empowered by a 2.0 liter flat- four cylinder coupled to a six- speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission may move the rear wheels.
Some rumors stated that Subaru BRZ will have more powerful boxer engine than the Toyota FT- 86 which is expected to have 200 ponies.
Any further information related to the concept model has not been released yet, as well as with the certainty whether the BRZ will be delivered in markets or not.
