Following the makeover of Volkswagen Passat four- door coupe sister four years ago, now it is the CC turn to receive some facelift for the first time.
In order to make the 2013 Volkswagen Passat’s face more modern with the German brand’s more recent offering, it has got a series of visual upgrade. The Passat is planed to have its global launch at the next 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show in the end of this month.
The new version features a restyled front which receives a fresh chrome- trimmed grille, redesigned headlamps along with a ring of LEDs and a refreshed bumper.
The back part of the vehicle also received some alterations found on its new LED tail lamp, bumper and boot lid style. The Passat appearance completed by a new choice of colors exterior and alloy wheel options.
Air conditioning controls and trim options are both present inside the car. The standard equipments of the vehicle also have been improved, completed with some additional features including detection system, new audio, stainless steel door sills and safety head restraints in which the front seats get additional longitudinal adjustment.
While the Side Assist Plus with integrated Lane Assist -which warns of vehicles in blind spots and guide the driver to avoid an accident by utilizing steering intervention, Dynamic Light Assist and a camera- based traffic sign detection system- is expected to be available in the 2013 model year.
On the other hand, the CC for USA model will feature the identical engine as the previous, covering a 2.0 liter TSI petrol producing output of 200 hp and 3.6 liter V FSI petrols boasting 280 ponies.
The CC also maintains the same engine lineup for European model, available with several TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines which producing a range of output from 140 hp to 300 hp. the 2.0 TDI spawning 140 hp delivers the most fuel- economy of 4.7 lt/ 100 km or around 50 mpg US.
The CC will arrive in Germany first in February next year and followed by other countries such as Europe, America, Russia and China.
