After having a relationship with Pang Da and Youngman after its economic failure, Saab now has developing the proposal design of the 2013 9-3. However, its design proposal pictures have already surfaced widely on internet.

It was a Swedish daily magazine SvD Naringsliv which first found the pictures unintentionally while accessing and searching for power point presentation made by automaker to the National Debt Office and the European Investment Bank in a couple of months ago.

Then the Phoenix concept was launched a few months later in the Geneva Motor Show. During the unveiling, Jason Castriota who is the Saab’s design chief stated that although it was apparently not aimed to enter production stage, it had very identical front end to the next 9-3 front end design.

Compared to the previous model, the new model is claimed to be more compact. It has 4.4 meters long completed with a shorter wheelbase, measured at 150 mm compared to the wheelbase previously used on the outgoing 9-3.

From this unclear sketch of the new model vehicle, we can see that it seems the company would employ the front end design and leaping roofline of the Geneva concept in developing the new Saab 9-3 design proposal.

It is most likely that the company will hold out and then go forward through this way for its 9- 3, the firm will replace the previous vehicle concept’s prudent gasoline- electric hybrid powertrain system with more traditional petrol and diesel engines. While a hybrid version may have to wait for a while and follow the petrol and diesel engines later on.
