Thinking of a number of luxury carmakers in the globe is all great. Some carmakers have its own performance division, starts from BMW to the luxury- oriented Lexus, all have their own luxury creations.
Now, how about the Infiniti?? Well, Infinity lately declare what is the meaning of its IPL acronyms. IPL stands for Infiniti Performance Line. We have already know, this Japanese carmaker only has an IPL G Coupe. It means it will not be a ‘Line’ if there is only one model. However, Infiniti has created one more model to join the line, the second production IPL based on the G37 Convertible. This Convertible has displayed at this year LA Auto Show.
At last year’s Paris Motor Show, the Concept model actually has been introduced to public. Compared to the Concept the production version of the IPL G shares some different equipments, including the reworked front fascia and bumper with integrated fog lights, the sculpted side skirts, 19-inch split-rim 7-spoke alloys with graphite finish and the two exclusive body finishes named Moonlight White and Malbec Black.
Two color trims, the Stone and the IPL- exclusive Monaco Red, are available for its interior as well as red-stitched leather front sports seats. What makes the production model looks different is that the model now features The “Silk Obi” aluminum trim, aluminum-trimmed pedals and footrest and IPL symbols on the front seatbacks and floor mats.
The 3.7 liter V8 engine empowers the new IPL G and spawns a great output of 400 rpm to 7,400 rpm. The car also delivers an improved power by 18 hp and set the total power of 343 ponies and 273 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the revised exhaust system and a more linear torque curve.
A seven- speed automatic transmission delivers the power to the rear wheels. This automatically- controlled transmission also enables the driver to select the gears manually through the magnesium steering- wheel mounted paddles.
