If you think that the flagship MKS sedan is lonely in receiving some alteration, you are absolutely wrong. In fact, Lincoln has one more models to accompany the MKS at this year LA Motor Show. Well, the MKT is one which also has got its face a tweak.
An all- new split front grille with more densely placed vertical slats and reshaped bumper, are now fixed to the new MKT. the grill brings more elegant look. The Lincoln design director, Max Wolff also stated that the alteration is aimed to change the vehicle’s proportion in the front view. As the result the MKT is now wider and a little less tall and less vertical.
The engineers also have made some changes into its three- row interior with a more luxurious appearance and more technologically- developed but still retains its six and seven- seat arrangements.
Some prominent alteration can be found in its new instrument panel fixed with a central speedometer flanked by two configurable 4.2 inch LCD screens. You can easily control the LCD through wheel- mounted buttons.
The climate control and the upgraded MyLincoln Touch infotainment system are displayed on an 8 inch LCD touch screen placed in the center console. The MyLincoln system can be mated to either the standard 210 watt audio system of the optional THX II- certified or 700 watt one with SiriusXM satellite radio.
The base version to empower the MKT is the 3.7 liter V6 which has got an additional 32 hp for the total ouput of 300 ponies. Which the 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 remains produces similar output of 355 ponies.
The Continuously Controlled Damping system on the EcoBoost model gets data from 46 sources and create 500 calculations per second and in only 11 millisecond adjust the suspension’s setting.
Drive Control system is also offered in this MKT, enables the driver to choose three driving modes, those are Normal, Comfort, and Sport. The Sport offers better handling by 25 to 30% over the others. It is more than 15 % more compliant in Comfort mode than in Normal setting.
