We all know that the automaker of Tesla will not bring one of its latest creations to have its public outing until fall next year. However Tesla has already announced the final pricing of United States model, the vehicle’s options and the further details on the new Tesla Model S electric sports saloon 2012 model year.
The company will offer its buyers with a choice of two trim levels; those are the Basic and the Performance.
The first level is empowered with three available battery options, including the 40 kWh which is cost at $57,400, the 60 kWh with a tag price at $67,400 and the last 85 kWh priced at $77,400, while the prices excluding a $7,500 tax are $49,900, $59,900 and $69,900 respectively.
The first battery package is able to deliver an estimated range of nearly 160 miles or equal to 258 km at an average speed of 55 mph while sprint away from standstill to 60 mph or around 96 km/ h in 6.5 seconds sprint time. This unit is also able to reach a top speed of 110 mph.
The second unit offers 230 miles or 370 km at 55 mph and accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds sprint time while reaching a top speed of 120 mph or 193 km/h.
And the last unit is 80 kWh battery which delivers 300 miles or 370 km at 55 mph. it sprints from standstill to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds sprint time and reach 125 mph top speed.
A host of features including a huge 17-inch Touchscreen, 19-inch alloy wheels and a Universal Mobile Connector with three adapters are available as standard features.
On the other hand, the Performance model is empowered with a larger capacity of 85 kWh battery which cost at $87,400 including the $7,500 federal tax. This level is completed with some equipment such as carbon décor and Aclantara accents along with an Active Air Suspension and 21-inch alloy wheels as standard.
The new Model S also will be offered with some extra packages including a glass panoramic roof which bring a tag price at $1,500 and a Tech Package which covers a 16GB hard drive, rear USB ports, LED fog lights, Xenon headlamps, turn-by-turn navigation system, high-def back-up camera, power lifgate and keyless entry. You will get this Tech Package extra with $3,750.
The higher level, 85 kWh model will be brought in front of public in the mid 2012. The second level will arrive three months later and the base level will roll out at the end of next year.
