Based on the Automotive News, the vehicle which will have a public outing at the Geneva Motor Show in March will boost a taller roof compared to the three- door Fiat 500. Moreover the vehicle will offer a larger cabin since it rides on a wider wheelbase. This Fiat 500L that built based on the Fiat Punto is expected to be nearly 163.38 inches in length. It means the car is longer by 2.36 inches over the previous.
The automaker is planning to offer the 500L in two versions, the five- seat and seven- seat models later on in the future. However both versions will be most likely to be offered not to American buyers and the States market will only get the former configuration. In july this year, the 500L will have arrived on Europe showrooms, while the American buyers should be patient since the States’ dealership will get this 500L next time in the beginning of 2013.
A choice of turbocharged two- cylinder 900cc gasoline engine, a 1.4 liter four- cylinder and a 1.3 liter diesel will be available for the 500L in European market. The first one is capable to spawn output of 85 hp, the second produces output of either 77 or 105 hp depends on the configuration, while the third will be available with its 75 or 99 hp as optional. Unfortunately, the American buyers will only get the 500L with the 1.4 liter Multiair four- cylinder as the optional.
