In Geneva Motor Show, Opel continue to present some newest images of the totally new Astra GTC after presenting the new Mokka pictures. In the UK, the new Astra GTC will be dubbed as the Vauxhall Astra VXR.
The new Astra GTC was built based on the muscular looking Astra GTC three- door hatch. Acclaimed as the most powerful Astra ever, the new GTC is sported by a 2.0 liter turbocharged direct injection engine, spawning output of 280 PS or equal to 276 hp/ 206 kW and 400 Nm of torque.
The unit is mated to a six- speed manual gearbox and an exclusively developed mechanical limited slip differential that deliver the power into the front wheels.
A large number of bespoke chassis modifications along with tweaks to the suspension, steering and braking systems are available in the OPC model. in addition, the OPC model also features Opel’s FlexRide adaptive dampers including a devoted Sport- and OPC-drive mode.
Makes the appearance sportier, the automakers have already fitted the Astra OPC with a new front bumper sporting a larger lower vent, side skirts, and roof spoiler, a diffuser mounted on a new rear bumper, rectangular tail pipes, and nice 20-inch alloy wheels.
The upgrades also continue inside the car which includes the body-hugging sports seats trimmed in leather with stitching in different colors which also present on the door panels, added with the flat-bottom steering wheel and gear shifter.
The company sets the new Astra OPC to be able to sit and compete with the other rivals, such as the Ford Focus ST, the VW Golf GTI/R and the Renault Megane RS.
