Recently the Beetle Cabriolet for the 2013 model year has been captured while doing its final test in a slightly camouflaged free prototype. Actually we will soon be able to see this 2013 VW Beetle Cabriolet officially launched, since some reports suggest that the automaker is set the Beetle Cabriolet to have its global outing at the New York Auto Show which will be held this April.
You may check the photos provided here and from the images you can judge, in order to appear like the previous model, the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet now features a trick disguise around the headlamps, the lower part of the front bumper and the taillights.
In some particular markets, some of you may know the new Beetle Cabriolet as a Convertible, just the same with its ancestor, available with a traditional folding soft top and four seating for the occupants.
The new Beetle Cabriolet makes use of a more solid body structure and thanks to that, now the vehicle is less vibration and provides improved handling.
The vehicle will be empowered by the same engine range with that found on the coupe model which covers either diesel and petrol models exclusively for the European market. However unfortunately, the North America market may just get a gasoline unit.
It means that the 2.5 liter five, 2.0 liter turbo four and 2.0 liter TDI turbodiesel are offered on the Cabriolet. The first one produces an overall output of 170 hp, while the higher level spawns output of 200 ponies and the diesel is able to deliver as much 140 ponies. The three units will be mated to either six- speed manual or six- speed dual clutch automatic transmissions.
