Following the other vehicles such as a Nissan Leaf and a custom EV from AC Propulsion which had their climb back in the past 2011, now Mitsubishi brings the totally redesigned all- electric i-MiEV Protorype to be toke part in the Pikes Peak, the annual hill climbing in Colorado, United States.
The vehicle itself is a prototype created based on the MMC’s all- electric i- MiEV model. It is the first purely electric vehicle or EV which is went into production stage and it is now already being sold in Japan, Europe and North America. On the other hand, the company also is planning for expanding to the other market in the globe.
The i- MiEV will join this year Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in July this year. We can see that the i- MiEV is a one- seat racer car which appears to be ready for the real on- track duty, judging on its photos dropped today.
It is said that the i- MiEV will be empowered by the same EV components as that of the current production i- MiEV. The new i- MiEV will be drove by famed driver, Hiroshi Masuoka who is the winner on the Dakar Rally which was held in the past 2002 with Mitsubishi Pajero and in 2003 behind the wheels of the Pajero Evolution. Thus, we are just wondering how this i- MiEV will reach the peak of Pikes Peak.
In order to take part on the event, the MMC’s engineers development division, the company’s partner manufacturers of batteries, motors and other EV components will be sent to the event.
