Rolls Royce has taken the wraps of the upgraded Phantom Series II family car that covers the four- door Saloon in regular and extended wheelbase flavors, the Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé in this year Geneva International Auto Show’s event.
Since the Phantom sedan model’s introduction back in 2003, the convertible in 2007 and the coupe model in 2008, the 2013 Phantom is the first Phantom that gets an extensive modification.
Apart of all of the changes, the most noticeable alteration on the Phantom Series II models are presented on the up front design that features new LED headlights and the substitution of the round spots right under with an extremely slight light strip. The automaker stated that full LED headlamps are presented for the first time as standard only in the Phantom Series II models. The exterior changes is completed with the resculptured lower parts of the front and rear bumpers.
As you step inside the cabin, you will first discover a new satellite navigation system that has new functions including 3D maps with landscape topography, guided tours and enhanced points of interest completed with composite route planning that is displayed in a wider 8.8 inch screen. In addition, the front, rear and top- view camera systems also have been upgraded.
Aside of the exterior and interior upgrades, the engineers also have improved the vehicle’s drivetrain that will be a totally new 8 speed automatic gearbox completed with a new rear differential that is said to be able to improve the combined fuel economy by ten percent and increase the CO2 emissions by 41 g/km.
