The all- new third generation of the Outlander crossover has been unveiled today at the most prestigious Geneva International Motor Show.
Actually, at the previous Tokyo Motor show, the model of the Outlander had been previewed by the Concept PX- MiEV at December last year. And I guess anyone who sees this Outlander will not be shocked by the crossover styling since the Outlander just shares a slight differences styling with the PX- MiEV.
The noticeable distinction appears on the Outlander softer front end and particular production details such as the exteriors mirrors. The Outlander that is able to bring five or seven passengers has the same modest styling interior as the exterior has including a padded surfaces and soft touch plastics.
The third- gen Outlander’s dimension is just so identical with the previous model with 4,655 mm in length, 1,800 wide and 1,680 mm tall along with 2,670 mm wheelbase.
The buyers will be able to have a choice of two different engines when the Outlander comes in European market, including a 2.0 liter MIVEC petrol that is good for 150ps or 148bhp and 195Nm of torque. The second is a 2.2 liter Clean Diesel that is able to spawn output of 150ps or 148bhp and a peak torque of 380Nm. Front- wheel drive system is offered for the two models and all- wheel drive comes as optional.
A six- speed manual or automatic is available for the diesel, while the petrol is offered with a five- speed manual or CVT. all units without diesel variant with the automatic transmission are available with Start- stop system.
The Outlander will be delivered for Russia this summer, followed by European market a couple of months later. The automaker is also planning for a new plug- in hybrid powertrain that will be manufactured maybe someday in the future.
