Ford’s engineers are now fully dedicating their time working on the facelifted Ford Fiesta subcompact hatchback model. The reworked Fiesta is expected to be launched in this year Paris Motor Show, at fall.
The automaker is still covering the front end of the prototype. However it is clearly seen that the front end brings the re- sculptured hood, the same hood with that of the new Fiesta ST. the designers are also planning for the latest developed bumper that completed with redesigned grille and distinguished fog lamp housings. A little change on the headlamps may be also possible to be fitted on the Fiesta.
In addition the production model of the new Fiesta may apply some changes to its rear bumper and tail light graphics design. The interior of the car also has been benefitted with the newest version Ford’s voice- activated, in- car connectivity SYNC system along with Emergency Assistance that is available for European model only. Apart of those bits, there is no other change appears.
On the other hand, for the mechanical details, the Fiesta is expected to get the brand’s new three- cylinder 1.0 liter Ford EcoBoost petrol engine. the unit was actually introduced on the European market Focus and the new B-MAX, while later on this year, the unit will be attached into the larger C-MAX.
The small displacement turbocharged gasoline is also expected that will be offered in two power versions. The power levels will be the 99hp or 100 ps and 123 hp or equal to 125 ps with 170 Nm of torque.
The combined fuel economy is delivered at 56.5 mpg UK in the five- door, 123 hp version Ford Focus, while the CO2 emissions is figured at 114 g/km. on the other side, the 99hp version is managed in returning 58.9 mpg UK fuel economy and 109 g/km CO2 emissions.
