Finally, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ final production form has been unveiled. Compared with the concept vehicle that had been showed at the Detroit Auto Show in January, overall the production model brings the same styling except its visible door handles and larger side mirrors. Based on what Lincoln Design director’s said, the car’s styling will be ‘elegant simplicity’.
The car will be offered with SYNC and MyLincoln Touch that are added with a large 10.1 inch LCD instrument cluster and 8 inch center touchscreen. Leather and real wood trim and metal accents are employed inside the car. The Active Noise Control comes as standard, while an exclusive 15.2-foot Retractable Panoramic Roof is optional.
At launch the MKZ will be available with three choices of powertrains. The first will be a 2.0 liter Ecooboost four- cylinder engine that good for 240 ponies and 270 lb- ft of torque, while the fuel consumption is returned at 22 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. The next level is a 3.7 liter V6 that produces 300 ponies and 277 lb- ft of torque. The engine figures fuel consumption at 18 mpg city and 26 mpg hayway. The last is 2.0-liter four-cylinder that work with an electric drivetrain that offers 188 poniees of power. Both non hybrid models are offered with all- wheel drive system as optional with six- speed automatic transmissions and paddle shifters, while the hybrid is offered with front- wheel- drive and a CVT.
The 2013 MKZ will completed with driving and safety technologies including Lincoln Drive Control that control each system on the vehicle and refine the ride and handling in real time. There will be a Continually Controlled Damping suspension system as well that provides normal, comfort and sport modes. Other features are a monovision camera, radar sensors and active Collision Warning with Brake Support. Exclusive inflatable second- row seatbelts also available plus eight airbags.
This week, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ will be ready for its launch at the New York Auto Show.
