Actually, yesterday Fisker has officially showed the rival for Audi A5, the Atlantic Hybrid Sport sedan to public before the new car has its official launch held today at New York Auto Show.
The picture you see here is a design prototype of the Atlantic that is aimed for young families who wish to drive a powerful, modern and responsive vehicle.
The company has already set a price tag for the Atlantic Plug- in Hybrid Sports sedan. The price is expected to be under $50,000 excluding tax. Unfortunately, the company is still sealing its lips to unveil any information on the Atlantic’s details.
Just the same with the Karma sedan, the Atlantic is a plug- in series hybrid that enables the driver to switch between electric and gasoline driving modes either manually or automatically, while keeping the charge of its lithium ion batteries when the car is moving.
The 2.0 liter turbocharged four- cylinder gasoline unit derived from BMW will be fitted into the Atlantic. Rear- wheel drive is provided as standard but all- wheel drive is also offered as optional.
Actually, the Atlantic brings the same exterior styling from the Karma but it is now more compact with hidden rear door handles and a large glass roof. The Atlantic dimension is just identical to that of the Audi A5 Sportback.
That’s all about the Atlantic, further information on the new vehicle such as pricing and on- sale date is expected to be launched neared to the launch. On the other hand, the production of the Atlantic itself will be held at a former GM factory in Delaware.
