The Citan delivery van which is developed based on the new Renault Kangoo had been unveiled by Mercedes- Benz several months before its global premiere that will be held this Septemeber in this year IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover.
The Citan is the first vehicle that is developed by in conjunction between Daimler, Mercedes- Benz’s parent company with the Renault- Nissan Alliance that was created in the past 2010. Renault’s factory in Maubeuge, France is where the new Citan Van will be produced.
The exterior of the car features an identical front end to the newest A- Class along with bespoke hood, front fender and bumper designs. Being different with the interior showed by the renderings that brings a unique styling with a couple of deeply set instrument gauses and SLK- like round air vents, the interior of the production model displays a more practical design.
The Citan has a fron- wheel that is offered in three different lengths, compact at 3.94 m Long at 4.32 m and Extra-Long at 4.71 m. in addition, there will be panel van model, crew bus model and a passenger version model dubbed as Mixto.
A choice of three turbocharged diesels with direct- injection will empower the Citan with a range of output from74hp to 109hp, while with the supercharged petrol engine, the SUV gets 113 ponies. Depending on the engine, a five- speed or six- speed manual will be available.
A BlueEFFICIENCY package that covers an ECO start/stop function, battery and generator management and low rolling resistance tires will be offered as standard on the petrol model and optional on the diesel. An Adaptive Electronic Stability Program is available as standard as well.
