The German automaker is now taking the advantages of this year’s venue to show off its successor to its broadly famed family sedan. It is actually four years after Volkswagen launched the Lavida at the past 2008 Beijing Auto Show in China. In addition during four years, the Lavida hit approximately 700,000 units of total sales. Again, the New Lavida is now making its debut as a new member of the VW Lavida range at this year Auto China.
Here, you can check the pictures of the new Lavida. Well, at the first sight, you may mistake it for a Passat. That’s common since the Lavida indeed is identical to the Passat. However this compact size sedan is developed based on the styling of the company’s larger saloon model.
A choice of three petrol engines is provided for the Chinese buyers. The first engine is the 2.0 liter four- cylinder, the second is a 1.6 liter four- cylinder and the last is a 1.4 liter turbocharged TSI unit that is able to produce output of 140 ponies. Either a six speed manual gearbox or a seven- speed DSG dual- clutch transmission are offered that work to deliver the power into the front wheels.
The company claimed that the new Lavida brings improved standard comfort and safety equipments on all trim levels, in which the base level features ABS, ESP and Front airbags.
