2013 McLaren MP4-12C to get More Power and Other Upgrades: McLaren

A year ago, the McLaren MP4-12C has just arrived on sale, yet, now the MP4- 12C is reported to get a bunch of upgrades in order to transform to be a 2013 model year. That’s what is said by an online magazine Car&Driver.

Upgrade is just something commonly done by automakers to renew their older products. However, here is something interesting. Well, the British automaker is providing the upgrades for the 2013 exclusively for the current owners of the MP4- 12 seriously for free.

For the 2013 model year, the automaker is planning to upgrade the MP4- 12C’s 3.8 liter twin- turbocharged V8, the transmission electronics and the touch screen based infotainment system as well.

McLaren claimed that the upgrade of the V8’s ECU enables the unit to deliver an improved output by 25 horses for a total power of 618 ponies. In addition, the company also will update other parts, such as a new transmission programming and the extra of software to enable the drivers to select how much sound they want to go through inside the car.

Furthermore, the automaker also has just done the development of a program which further will be able to let the infotainment system to help both the navigation and Bluetooth.

Unfortunately, apart of those upgrades that are offered to the existing owners at no cost, the only improvement that absence for the current owners of the car is a new suspension lift mode that is available as an optional feature. The suspension is able to raise both ends of the car at low speeds in which it helps navigate through speed bumps or parking slopes.
