Citroen is setting a new plan for its compact saloon market in which as much 20 million registration of a year ago or nearly a third of all passenger car global sales with its two new vehicles called the C- Elysee and C4 L.
Well, actually the C- Elysee, as we’ve already expected, is based on the recently introduced 301. Additionally these two cars feature the same body except its bespoke fascias, wheels and tail lamps. The company stated that the C- Elysee will be developed in Spain and it is expected that before the end of this year, the vehicle will have been sold in Turkey, Spain, Central Europe and Algeria.
The car that is empowered by the newest version VTi 97bhp petrol engine provides as much 506 liters of boot capacity and is riding on a 2.65 meters long wheelbase.
Let’s move on the second compact sedan. The Citroen C4 L is the first production Citroen that is designed by the Citroen Shanghai style center in China. It is developed based on the company’s C4 hatchback.
The company said that the C4 L will provide the buyers with a ‘lounge- like rear compartment’ added with wraparound seats, backrests inclined to 29° and headrests exclusively made for improving vehicle’s comfort. Other features include hands-free access and start, touch-screen GPS, reversing camera, fully heated windscreen and air ionizer.
For the C4 L, Citroen offers a choice of three available gasoline engines, those are the BMW Group and PSA co-developed THP 150 and 170, and the VTi 135. Either an automatic or a sequential six- speed transmission can be linked to the unit.
Based on what had been said by the company, the C4 L will be manufactured in each area where it is sold such as Wuhan and China in late 2012 following by Kaluga and Russia in the first half of next year.
