Aston Martin has just released the DBS replacement’s photos along with video and the full details of the vehicle. The so called Vainquish, although it is a new name, still bring the identical character of the DBS. However, although it features the same design language, the company has made some changes by applying stiffer fourth generation VH aluminum monocoque chassis.
It is said that now the torsional rigidity is enhanced by up to 25 per cent compared to the DBS its replaced. Thanks to the use of carbon fiber in the rear structure and hollow cast aluminum, the Vanquish is now lighter. The chassis of the Vanquish that is mostly constructed from carbon fiber is 13 per cent lighter over the DBSs.
The car that is measured at 4,720 mm long and 2067 mm wide and 1,29 mm tall rides on the same length wheelbase but 5mm wider and 14 mm taller wheelbase compared to that of the DBS. Compared to the DBS it is lighter by 50 kilos.
The DBS replacement is empowered with revised DBS’ naturally aspirated 5.9 liter V12 petrol engine. The total output is now improved by 55 horses and 50 Nm for a total power of 565 hp and 620 Nm of peak torque. The power then transferred into the rear wheels via the previous Touchtronic 2 six- speed automatic gearbox.
The car sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds sprint time, while reaching a top speed of 295 km/h. it means that the Vanquish is faster by 0.2 seconds compared to the DBS.
The car is equipped with Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires along with new 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels, the third generation Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes, Adaptive Damping System (ADS) that enables the driver to choose Normal, Sport and Track modes, Dynamic Stability Control and Positive Torque Control.
The same design and layout of the DBS is still retained and applied on the Vanquish’s interior. However it features more modern appearance such as the new touch sensitive pads on the center console. In addition, the car is available in either 2+0 or 2+2 seating configurations. The boot capacity is increased by 60 per cent roomier to 368 liters.
The Vanquish is offered with a starting price from £189,995 for the UK pricing, while for the U.S the price will be at US$279,995.
