New Ford C-MAX Hybrid Beats Prius V: Ford

The company has already announced that the new C- MAX Hybrid will be able to return a fuel economy of 47 mpg or equal to 5.0 lt/100 km in city and 44 mpg or 5.3 l/ km in highway cycle. To clearly show the strength of the vehicle, ford brings Toyota Prius V to be compared with the Prius.

Ford claimed that the C- MAX Hybrid is better than the Prius V that return fuel economy of 44 mpg city and 40 mpg highway while in case of power, the C- MAX  produces a total output of 188 horses beating the Prius V that only delivers 134 horses. In term of pricing, the blue oval also lower in price by $1,300 of $25,995 along with destination and handling fee.

Previously, the company showed us with a press release that stated a $555 difference in price between the base model of the C-MAX and the Prius V. however, the company now has included the destination and handling fee into the previous price, so that the difference on the final pricing of the C- MAX Hybrid is raising to $1,300.

The Global Product Development and Ford vice president, Raj Nair stated that the C- MAX Hybrid was developed based on the company’s 20 years of hybrid innovation and fuel- economy. Thus, it beat the Prius V with better fuel consumption on the city cycle at 47 mpg. With such better value offer the Prius V, the company was convinced that it will have a good chance to live in hybrid market.

He added that the C- MAX Hybrid was 3 mpg and 50 horses more than that of the Prius V. In addition, the C- MAX Hybrid is also benefitted from some technological features such as hands free liftgate.

The Ford C- MAX Hybrid will have arrived on sale in the United States later this year, while the company is also planning for a plug- in hybrid model that will arrive later on.
