Kia Quoris Front Side1 New Quoris, The New Kia K9 Flagship SedanKia had already given a name for its new Kia K9 rear- wheel drive luxury sedan as the Quoris. This sedan is set to be exported to some selected countries globally outside of South Korea starting from the fourth quarter of this year. However since the company is still sealing its lips, we have not knew yet which markets will be chosen to receive the new Quoris. However, we guess that it will be available in North America and Western Europe.

Based on the explanation from the company’s Executive Vice President, Thomas Oh, the name Quoris is derived from the English Words means core and quality. It indicates the new flagship sedan’s performance that brings solidity, luxury and high- technology, that all brought into one vehicle.

The company’s decision to give the new sedan such eccentric name is expected that the car will be able to stand out further from the current achievement, establishing a strong Kia’s sales of the global automotive market.

For the local market, the K9 is offered with a 3.3 liter V6 engine hiding under its hood. The unit is able to produce as much 296 horses or 300 PS of power. There is another engine that sports the K9, a 3.8 liter V6 churning out as much 329 ponies or 333 PS. Both engines are mated with an eight- speed automatic gearbox that moves the rear wheels.

Well, so what about the Quoris? Previously, the South Korean automaker stated that it will bring a Lambda V6 3.8 liter MPI and 3.8 liter GDI engines placed under its hood for the export markets. The engines deliver as much 286 horses or 290 PS and 329 Hp or 333 PS respectively. Yet, we still believe that Kia may also introduce a V8 option for the North America market.
