After getting the success with the McLaren MP4-12C, McLaren will release a 2011 McLaren “Mega Mac” to try to repeat that success again. The 2011 “Mega Mac” is a sports car which is claimed will be the biggest rival for the Bugatti Veyron. The plan of this car will only be produced in 500 units and was release in 2014.

McLaren Mega Mac will offer a combination of vicious machine, with a flexible maneuverability, as well as having a high function as a vehicle that can be used everyday.

The new Mega Macs equipped with 500 cc V8 engine capable of producing power up to 799 bph at 7500 rpm and 590 lb-ft of torque at 3500-6800 rpm. All power was supplied by Graziano dual clutch transmission with seven levels of acceleration.

The acceleration can be achieved within 2.8 seconds, while the acceleration of 0-200 kpj can be achieved in 5.5 seconds and 0-400 kpj within 20 seconds.

Although McLaren Mega Mac is having large body but this sport car is very light in weight. It was because the use of monocell carbon fiber material – as used on McLaren MP4-12C body.

To support the driver comfort, McLaren install aluminum pushrod suspension devices, anti-roll hydraulic control, adaptive damping, as well as traction control devices five-stage system.

Interestingly, when McLaren Mega Mac driver wants to speed up in the racing circuit, the Antilock Brake System devices can be disabled. Conversely, if the car is used on a highway then the Satellite Navigation Link device will activate it again.

Carbon ceramic braking devices and brake steer will become standard devices on this sports car. The device was considered qualified enough to control McLaren Mega Mac speed.

McLaren is set to produce just 500 Mega Macs with prices expected to fall between £350,000 and £400,000 ($535,000 and $611,000).
