Dodge had announced its extremely powerful car, Dodge Charger SRT8 which will back for the 2012 model year, at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 will be built in Brampton, Ontario, Canada at the Brampton Assembly. The vehicle is managed to go on its dealer showrooms in the late of this year. The Dodge will come in iconic four-door fastback coupe design of the all-new Charger and of course the improvement of the power band across the rpm range.
The previous 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 under its hood, replaced by a fresh 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 produces more horsepower at 465 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. The fuel economy is claimed will also be improved however the figure has not been announced yet and will be revealed nearer to the Dodge introduction. A new adaptive valve exhausts system found on the new 6.4 HEMI V-8 enables the technology to produce improved fuel efficiency.
On the floor shifter, the standard paddle-shift technology paired to the standard AutoStick which is the first time applied in any Chrysler Group LLC SRT range. Those are coupled to the proven W5A580 five-speed automatic transmission enabling the drivers to shift easily on the road. The adaptive damping suspension of the Dodge allows the drivers to choose either Auto or Sport setting.
Four-piston Brembo calipers and vented/slotted rotors measuring 14.2 inches up front and 13.8 inches in the rear come as the world class stopping power which anticipates conditions when the driver may encounter an emergency brake stop.
The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 designed with a new front and rear fascias and a new rear spoiler along with a high performance appearance. A high-gloss black finishes and the SRT badge feature the front grille and Dodge crosshair. The Dodge’s new signature “racetrack” taillamp designed with 164 illuminating LEDs gets new 4-inch round dual exhaust tips and an SRT8 decklid badge applied on its rear.
