BMW expects to have about one million FWD BMW, and have a mini model produced per year. Some spy photographers managed to prove the step of BMW to create the model “FAST” or also called (Family Activity Sports Tourer), who has joined the CAT (Compact Activity Tourer) and the JOY (Compact Sports Commuter Concept). The new BMW FAST will go on sale in 2013.
The BMW FAST is the first BMW with front-wheel drive and opens the way to a new era of BMW vehicles. It will be built at BMW’s new UKL1 platform shared with all future mini BMW and Mini models, and will be offered in both front-wheel drive and four wheel drive versions.
The power for BMW’s new city car FWD comes from a line of both petrol and diesel N38 N37 small enough to fit under the short hood. 155 HP – this would be a 1.5L engine that will produce 75 hp range. The top of the line model will feature an inline-six cylinder engine with about 326 hp. A three-cylinder engine will also be offered.
