The new 2011 Acura TSX Sportwagon finally arrives as the answer of the expectation of Acura. The new 2011 Acura TSX is the preminum brand in roomy five- door based on Honda’s global compact and midsize architecture.
Different to the TFX sedan which employs a V6 turbocharged, the TSX Sportwagon is empowered by just a 2.4-liter four-cylinder coupled to a five-speed automatic. The car had arrived in North America at the beginning of this year as a 2011 model. Although the TSX Sportwagon is not qualified as brand new, this car is the cheapest wagon from premium bran you will find in US.
The TSX has been completed with the Tech Package including navigation, an ELS audio system and a power tailgate. The styling of the TSX Sportwagon is quite different from its sedan brother. The TSX receives Acura’s latest beak which looks a little tall. The TSX is covered in lighter colors in which the front grille finished in silver, match quite well.
The tailgate hangs on the out back of the car, opened with the press of a button to unveil an enormous trunk. Rather than straight down, the tailgate looks more slopes out toward the rear bumper. The effect become stronger added by a chunky rear bumper and large amount of gate-mounted cladding. The design of tail lamps, twin exhaust pipes, five-spoke wheels and chrome door handles are all mostly similar to that of the regular four- door.
Inside the car, appears bolstered leather- trimmed into seats, a three-spoke steering wheel and paddle shifters. The center stack is full of lots of controls for the Tech Pack’s navigation system. On the center of the upper dashboard appears a big twist- knob. Just like other Acura’s models, the seats are well bolstered and ‘lumbared’ as well. A spacious leg room provided in the back seat completed with the standard moonroof. The rear provides enough room for your luggage.
Compared to other modern cars, the TSX is apparently a lightweight car, only at around 3,600 lbs. the TSX is empowered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder producing output 201 horsepower at a 7,000 rpm and 170 lb-ft. of torque at 4,300 rpm. if the TSX has been revved, it will delivers a 18 mpg in the city, less by 2 mpg than the EPA’s rating, while on highway, the cars figures 30 mpg.
The 2011 Acura TSX Sportwagon Technology Pacakge stats from $34,610 and $35,470 as tested excluding the destination fee.
